Global rebrand propels leading scanner manufacturer into new markets with future-forward visual identity.

IBML, one of the world’s premier manufacturers of high-speed scanning technology—including systems utilized by the U.S. Census—underwent a strategic brand transformation coinciding with leadership succession within the family-owned enterprise. The incoming president initiated a comprehensive rebranding initiative designed to position the company for two critical objectives: appealing to increasingly design-conscious market segments and facilitating international expansion across diverse global markets.

The resulting identity system featured a sophisticated visual language incorporating forward-looking technological aesthetics complemented by a vibrant chromatic strategy that enhanced information hierarchy and visual engagement. The comprehensive application suite included exhibition materials, advertising campaigns, and various print collateral specifically engineered to showcase their advanced product offerings with maximum impact.

Central to the rebrand was a distinctive logomark that visually referenced the paper-scanning process while incorporating the company’s name. This versatile visual identifier was supported by a proprietary typeface system specifically developed to create consistent naming conventions across IBML’s scanner portfolio while functioning effectively as physical product identification on the machines themselves. This integrated approach ensured brand consistency from marketing communications through to the physical product experience.
