For the Deal family’s birth announcement, I created a distinctive accordion-fold piece celebrating the arrival of their newest member. This project was a collaborative effort with copywriter and photographer Mac Logue, who developed a touching narrative focused on the relationship between the family’s firstborn son and his new baby brother.
The design embraced simplicity and sophistication through a thoughtful two-color palette that created visual harmony while managing production costs effectively. I integrated carefully selected photography with subtle textural elements to add depth and tactile interest to the piece, complementing the warmth of the storytelling.
The accordion format provided an engaging experience for recipients, allowing the story to unfold sequentially as they explored the announcement. This interactive quality transformed a traditional birth announcement into a memorable keepsake that captured the Deal family’s joy and the beginning of a beautiful sibling relationship. The finished piece successfully balanced narrative emotion with refined design elements, delivering the family’s news in a format that was both distinctive and deeply personal.
