I was asked to create a two-minute video that would be projected onto the water tower atop of Carmichael Lynch. This was strictly a visual piece lacking the element of sound I use in other works – or so it seems. Instead of creating a visual to go with an audio track, I took the frequency of a track and used it to aid in the generation of graphics for the projection by using a particle generator to create high contrast particles that would dance to a frequency in a song. The particle movement was an electronic interpretation of water being affected by sound vibrations. It would later transition into a constellation pattern that dances across the night sky on the surface of the water tower. Other limitations that framed this work were the ambient light in the area. This required me to strip the visuals down to the most basic form and color so as to be seen clear from the streets below.
